Who we are.
Tyne & Type is a freelance web design business based in Northumberland, operated by Colin Dickson. We provide custom website design and related digital services to small businesses across the North East of England and the UK.

What data we collect.
We only collect data when you actively provide it, or when analytics cookies are enabled with your consent.
- Contact form data — your name, email address, business name (optional), and the message you send. Collected when you submit the enquiry form on this site.
- Email correspondence — any emails you send to info@tynetype.co.uk and the replies sent back to you.
- Analytics data — pages visited, time on site, approximate location (country/region), device type, and referral source. Only collected if you accept analytics cookies.
We do not collect payment information through this site. If you engage us for a project, invoicing is handled separately via a third-party invoicing tool and does not pass through this website.
How we use your data.
- To respond to your enquiry and provide a quote
- To deliver the web design services you commission
- To send transactional emails related to your project (e.g. progress updates, invoices)
- To improve this website using aggregated, anonymised analytics data (with consent)
We do not use your personal data for marketing, and we do not sell or share it with third parties for their own purposes.

- Legitimate interests — responding to enquiries you initiate and carrying out agreed work
- Contract performance — processing data necessary to deliver services you've commissioned

How long we keep it.
Enquiry data that does not result in a project is deleted within 6 months. Project-related correspondence and files are retained for up to 7 years for accounting and legal compliance. You can request deletion at any time (see Your Rights below).
Third parties.
This website uses the following third-party services:
- Netlify — hosts this website and processes contact form submissions. Data is processed in the USA under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Netlify Privacy Policy
- Google Analytics 4 — analytics, only loaded with your consent. Data is processed by Google LLC. Google Privacy Policy
- Google Fonts — fonts are loaded from Google's CDN. Google may log request metadata. Google Privacy Policy
- Namecheap Private Email — email at info@tynetype.co.uk is hosted by Namecheap. Namecheap Privacy Policy
No other third-party trackers, advertising networks, or social media pixels are present on this site.
Cookie policy.
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. This site uses a minimal set of cookies, described below.
Strictly necessary: tt_cookies — stores your cookie preference (accepted or declined). No expiry date is set; it persists until you clear your browser storage. This cookie does not track you and is exempt from consent requirements.
Analytics cookies (consent required):
- _ga — Google Analytics. Distinguishes unique users. Expires after 2 years.
- _ga_XXXXXXXXXX — Google Analytics session data. Expires after 2 years.
Analytics cookies are only set if you click "Accept analytics" in the consent banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are placed and Google Analytics is never loaded.
To withdraw consent at any time, clear this site's local storage in your browser's developer tools or privacy settings, then revisit the site and choose "Decline" in the banner that appears.
